There was batch lunch, followed by a quick rehearsal

Everyone was a little nervous, but very excited!!

Lots of encouraging words were exchanged (and some hugs too) and we’re ready to go!

We started with Lion King performed by batch 15 and batch 16, followed by the year1s’ reflection sharing and then their solo performances.

They were then announced as official rgsband members with their musicianship badge pinned on for them by the year4s (Batch 14).

The year1s then had their very own performance as a batch! (with Mr Wong) They played enchanting pieces like Air for Band and Metrodance. We were all very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pieces, keep it up, Batch 17!

Inunion then ended with The Bund, Shanghai (上海滩) performed by rgssb’15. But of course, no band event can end without band cheers!

band cheers were led by the year4 exco members and alumni

Inunion ended with the shiny people, shining even brighter… 🙂

This may be the end of Inunion 2014, but it definitely will not be the last you see of RGSSB’15 ~ (Actually it will is just the starting of the wonderful and marvellous journey we have together. Look forward to our next post!)

— “Official Logs” – Cadenza XIV (Apr’ 14)

It has been 4 years since we’ve made an official log of a major band event on this wordpress, so I hope you don’t mind that I’ll be taking the liberty to make this a bit more fun and less reportive-style!

Cadenza XIV (26 April 2014)
After half a year of preparation, the day of Cadenza XIV was finally here!
Here is the elaborate schedule for the day:Screenshot (51) Screenshot (52) Screenshot (53)

We started off the day with Section Gift Exchange, in which we gathered with our section mates at our respective section areas to share gifts and encouraging letters that we had prepared for our section members.

We then had section lunch, together with the Sec 1s, for the first time.

Next we loaded the percussion, alumni, and large instruments onto the lorry and made our way to SOTA on 2 separate buses.

Upon reaching SOTA, we got our exclusive backstage passes and made our way into the backstage area which had a pretty glass window and the grand stage!

After another briefing from the Logs Comm (Li Wen & Xinyi) in the holding room (where we also took many photos), we made our way to our exclusive dressing rooms!

After warming up, we made our way on stage for our final rehearsal – alone, then with the alumni band. Then the alumni band had their rehearsal and wowed the rest of us with their professional-sounding piece, Oregon and the hit soundtrack from Disney’s Frozen! (Yep you guessed it! Let it Go!)

Soon enough, it was time to change into our band uniforms (all-black for the alumni), and then we had our dinner.

Dearest RGSSB,

Have a great birthday today 🙂 May you continue bringing joy and music to RGS bandgirls (past and present), as well as to all of your supporters!

(On another note – the event loggers are currently working on the event logs for SYF/SYF camp/Band Camp, we appeal to your patience!)

Hi Band! I heard that the new band uniforms have arrived! 😀 Thanks to Uniform Comm’10 for all their hard work over the last year, especially the committee I/C, Claudia (: Not forgetting the teachers for all their hard work as well, and WOs ’11 who will be handling the new uniforms.

Since we’re on the topic of the band uniform, below is a rather random addition to this post – the RGSSB band girl bear. (Someone gave it to me for Cadenza)

We miss all of you! Will try to visit soon.
